Amelia Earhart, Pioneer in Aviation: Take your students on a thrilling, fast-paced journey through the life of the adventurous pioneer (and one-time Massachussettsian) who in 1932 became the first woman, and only the second aviator, to pilot a plane across the Atlantic Ocean. They’ll follow Amelia from her days as a young athlete, excelling at sports that only boys are “supposed” to play; as a nurse’s aide during the First world war; and as a young women filled with passion about the science of aviation who is able to fulfill her dreams of flight.
